U.S.A Based charities selected must engage in animal assisted programs aligned with our mission and purposes. These include: Animal Assisted Therapy programs focusing on therapies improving human physical, social, emotional, or cognitive function with certified animals; Animal Assisted Activity programs involving motivational, educational, or recreational activities with animals; and Service Dog programs, including those for guide, hearing, and medical alert dogs.
The grant supports animal-assisted programs across three main areas: therapy, activity, and service dogs. Therapy grants require volunteer teams to be certified by recognized programs. Activity grants focus on motivational, educational, or recreational engagements with animals. Service dog grants are for accredited members of Assistance Dogs International. Grant amounts typically range from $500 to $7,500, distributed based on the completion of program milestones.
