AWS Foundation awards grants to support children and adults with enduring intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Their mission focuses on enabling individuals to live as independently as possible, be included in the community, and function at their highest potential.
The Gilmore Inclusive Arts Grant, named in honor of Lynne Gilmore, the first Executive Director of the Foundation, is dedicated to the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life, especially the Arts. This grant supports special projects that focus on including and engaging individuals with disabilities in the local arts communities of Northeast Indiana. It is awarded annually, with the application period opening the first Friday of May and closing the last Friday of September. The announcement of the recipient aligns with the Foundation's Fall grantmaking cycle in mid-November.
