For more than 90 years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) has been committed to improving the health of all Texans. They have sought to achieve this through forging alliances with both private and public organizations, focusing on sustainable and impactful community enrichment. BCBSTX supports organizations that align with their mission to bolster health and wellness within Texas communities, focusing on those that are recognized as non-profits, or are government, civic, and cultural organizations.
The Blue Impact Grants program by BCBSTX focuses on investing in community health and wellness, aiming to be a leader in advancing holistic care, addressing health equity, and supporting under-championed populations. The program has been redesigned into five strategic pillars reflecting the umbrella mission of expanding access to care and directly targeting the social determinants of health (SDOH). These pillars include economic opportunity and stability, nutrition support, enhancement of neighborhood and built environment, locally defined health solutions, and improving optimal health outcomes. The initiative specifically targets areas like poverty alleviation, nutrition access, affordable housing, hyperlocal health needs, and closing care gaps in key health priority areas such as immunizations, diabetes, cardiovascular care, behavioral health, cancer screening, and maternal & infant health.
