The Brook J. Lenfest Foundation, established by Brook J. Lenfest in 2000, aims to enlighten people about positive life choices while offering support and opportunities to those eager to pursue them. Its grants are mainly directed towards education, job training, and mentoring programs, with the Philadelphia Foundation providing administrative and management support.
The grant program emphasizes supporting organizations operating in the Greater Philadelphia region, particularly focusing on education and job training initiatives designed to prepare participants for jobs that ensure at least a lower middle-class income. Preference is accorded to programs demonstrating significant positive outcomes. The process for applying varies, with new applicants encouraged to submit a letter of inquiry, while previous recipients and those invited post-inquiry are to complete a full application.
