COAST supports CSU graduate students engaged in marine, estuarine, coastal, and coastal watershed research. This initiative provides opportunities for students to pursue marine-related careers, aiming to equip them with essential skills for a highly skilled, technologically advanced workforce while promoting and supporting CSU faculty research.
The Graduate Student Research Awards, now renamed as the Dr. Kenneth H. Coale Graduate Scholar Award program starting 2022, focus on funding CSU graduate students conducting research in marine, estuarine, coastal, and coastal watershed areas with CSU COAST faculty members. The program's goal is to support students interested in marine-related careers, offering them the chance to develop necessary skills and contributing to CSU faculty research. This initiative also pays tribute to Dr. Kenneth H. Coale's legacy, acknowledging his pivotal role in founding COAST.
