    The Housing & Human/Social Services Grants program is designed to support nonprofit agencies operating within the City of Bellingham. The goal is to fund services over a two-year period, from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2025, with funding contingent on annual appropriations. The grants target the enhancement of housing stability and human/social services by aiming to:

    • Increase access to affordable housing,
    • Reduce the incidence of homelessness through prevention and diversion strategies,
    • Support formerly homeless households in achieving sustained housing stability through case management and mental health services,
    • Enhance access to affordable childcare,
    • Address vulnerabilities that lead to homelessness such as job training and literacy programs,
    • Improve access to basic needs including food and medical care, and
    • Provide supports that improve the quality of life for seniors and disabled adults. Grant applicants must align with one of these goals as their primary mission.
