The Colorado Trust aims to ensure all Coloradans have fair and equal opportunities to lead healthy, productive lives regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or where they live. Its vision of health equity means every person in Colorado can reach their full health potential without being disadvantaged by socially determined circumstances.
The Community Resilience Initiatives by The Colorado Trust are three-year investments aimed at harnessing the strengths, abilities, and resiliency of Colorado communities. These initiatives span seven competitive grants targeting the foundation’s strategic focus areas: food, housing, and mental and behavioral health, which were identified as top priorities in communities across Colorado. The grant program seeks to support efforts that respond to disruptions caused by economic downturns, social disorder, public health emergencies, or ineffective public policies. Among these, the "Accessing Healthy Foods" initiative aims to increase the availability of nutritious and affordable food for those challenged by food insecurity, thereby enhancing economic stability and promoting healthy eating habits among the target populations.
