    Overview

Focus Grants aim to support organizations that disrupt intergenerational poverty. The grants, typically ranging from $25,000 to $50,000, prioritize efforts addressing root causes of intergenerational poverty such as racial and structural inequities. The goal is to create policies and systems centered on those with lived experiences. The grant program focuses on basic human needs, educational attainment, and asset building as key areas to improve lives in southwest Washington. It adheres to a community impact lens guiding funding toward dismantling disparities and supporting historically underserved communities. This entails addressing community needs, advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, building awareness around intergenerational poverty, ensuring programs are clearly defined and based on best practices, involving community voices, establishing trusted relationships, seeking collaboration, realistic outcome potential, and competent fiscal management.
