The Community Foundation's mission focuses on enhancing the health and vitality of the Middlesex County community. It aims to do so by funding projects that address needs within its interest areas, demonstrating a positive impact on the served organizations, projects, communities, or individuals. The Foundation supports initiatives that foster community cooperation, leverage additional funding, and build organizational capacity.
The grant program focuses on supporting a wide range of programs or projects that serve broad groups, demographics, or regions within Middlesex County, particularly in predefined areas of need or impact. These areas include community enrichment (covering arts, culture, and history), community health, economic security and opportunity, economic development, education (encompassing community-wide initiatives and schools), public or social benefit (including civic improvement and social services), environment, animal welfare and protection, and recreation. Additionally, specific field of interest funds are targeted, such as the Mary Janvrin and Natalie Janvrin Wiggins Fund for Birds, Other Animals, and Nature; the Sari A. Rosenbaum Fund for Women & Girls; the St. Luke's Home Fund for Veterans & Seniors; and the Animals: Respect & Friendship Fund (ARF!). Grants aim to address significant needs and demonstrate measurable impact on the organization, project, community, or individuals served.
