The mission of The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation is dedicated primarily to sustained investment in the quality of life of the people of Southeastern Michigan and Western New York. The Foundation reflects Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.'s devotion to his hometown of Detroit and the people of greater Buffalo, aiming to support the regions through a sustainable and impactful philanthropic approach.
The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds aim to provide permanent support through endowed grants focusing on programs and initiatives that mirror Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.'s personal interests. These interests include Caregiving, Design & Access, Youth Sports, and supporting Grosse Pointe Community Assets. The grants are designed to support projects from anchor nonprofit organizations that benefit residents of southeastern Michigan and western New York, with individual grants typically ranging from $10,000 to $25,000, although grants from the Access and Design Fund may reach up to $50,000. Most grants cover a 12-month period, but flexibility allows for the duration to be adjusted based on project needs.
