The Community Foundation for the CSRA aims to enhance the quality of life for residents of Augusta and its surrounding communities, including Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, and Burke counties in Georgia, as well as Aiken and Edgefield counties in South Carolina. For over 25 years, they have connected the philanthropic spirit of community members with local nonprofits and community initiatives, grounded in a collective desire to promote regional well-being.
The Community Grants program by the Community Foundation for the CSRA provides funding to local nonprofits conducting necessary and outstanding philanthropic work. Supported by the Masters Tournament, among other donors, these grants are distributed competitively to help organizations fulfill their missions, with a focus on arts/culture/history, education/youth enrichment, health/environmental initiatives, and support for people in need. Organizations are encouraged to present innovative, high-quality proposals, and the program offers a unique opportunity for applicants to submit a pre-proposal for feedback before the final submission. The Foundation welcomes applications for start-up or operating support but reviews these carefully to ensure projects will continue to benefit the community long after funds are depleted. Grant requests should not exceed $15,000, and only one application per 501(c)(3) organization is accepted per grant cycle.
