The mission of the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, as represented by the Paul and Martha Rees Fund, is to respond to the most compelling needs and opportunities in the Northern Shenandoah Valley community. This includes the City of Winchester, as well as Frederick, Clarke, and Warren Counties. The foundation aims to improve the quality of life for community members through support in various areas such as education, arts, social services, community development, recreation, natural resources, and health and wellness.
The Paul and Martha Rees Fund offers unrestricted grants allowing the board of directors of the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley flexibility to address the most pressing needs and opportunities within the community. Grants are aimed at charitable organizations that contribute to improving the quality of life in the designated areas. Supported causes encompass a broad spectrum including education, fine arts, social services, community development, recreation, natural resources, and health and wellness, reflecting a multi-faceted approach to community enhancement and support.
