The Department of Economic and Community Development is the state's lead agency responsible for strengthening Connecticut’s competitive position in the rapidly changing, knowledge-based global economy. The agency takes a comprehensive approach to economic development that incorporates community development, transportation, education, and arts and culture.
The Good to Great 2.0 grant program aims to support nonprofit arts, cultural, and historic organizations in enhancing visitors' experiences through innovative connections between art, history, and tourism. It focuses on capital projects that move beyond mere repairs or expansions, encouraging methods that share Connecticut's cultural and historical narratives in engaging and relevant ways. The program supports projects that link art, culture, history, and preservation, seek innovative story-telling methods, align with state tourism goals, and promise to increase public awareness or visitation to arts, culture, and history venues in Connecticut. Grants range from $25,000 to $500,000, operate on a reimbursement basis, and necessitate a 10-year temporary lien on the funded site by the State of Connecticut.
