The mission of the Couch Family Foundation is to be a catalyst for change in the lives of children and their families by creating quality and equitable opportunities to help them learn, thrive, and lead healthy, fulfilling lives. The foundation focuses on supporting people and programs that work to improve children’s health and well-being, early learning and development, family resiliency, and community vibrancy, primarily in the Upper Valley Region of New Hampshire and Vermont.
The Couch Family Foundation’s community grant program aims to support nonprofit organizations that promote community well-being in alignment with the foundation's mission. The program prioritizes grants for projects that have demonstrated impact, strong leadership, a collaborative approach to community change, and a focus on racial equity and justice. First-time grant seekers are encouraged to apply, especially for project funding, with guidance provided by foundation staff. The types of grants offered include unrestricted/general operating support, project support, capital support (with prior staff contact), and event sponsorships for organizations with an established relationship with the foundation. Applicants are recommended to detail their impact on children and families in the Upper Valley or Martha’s Vineyard.
