The Dallas Foundation brings together people, ideas, and investments in Greater Dallas so individuals and families can reach their full potential.
The Dallas Foundation's grant program is designed to support nonprofit agencies with specific cause focuses including arts, critical needs, low-income clients, animal welfare, and more. Their Field of Interest funds open in the spring, inviting nonprofits to submit Letters of Inquiry (LOI) for funding that aligns with their focus areas. Among these offerings is the Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund for Animal Welfare, which is dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote the health and welfare of companion animals. This fund prioritizes projects such as cruelty prevention, veterinary care for needy owners, spay and neuter programs, feral cat protection, sanctuaries, responsible pet ownership, animal shelter support, and adoption promotion, with $300,000 available for grants annually.
