The Denver Foundation's mission is to inspire people and mobilize resources to strengthen the Denver community. As a community foundation, they manage a variety of funds and initiatives that aim to address the needs and improve the lives of the residents in the Denver area. The foundation focuses on building a more equitable and vibrant community through grantmaking, philanthropy, and community leadership.
BRIC Grants focus on empowering nonprofits that are Black-led and serve Black communities, helping them to navigate and withstand current societal crises and ensure long-term sustainability. The program is underpinned by a commitment to addressing community-identified issues, with decisions guided by a community-led Black advisory committee. This initiative underscores the importance of supporting efforts tailored to the unique challenges faced by Black communities in Colorado, especially in the context of the "new normal" which includes the lasting impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and heightened racial injustice.
