The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in the Duluth Superior region through the establishment and administration of endowed funds created by individuals, families, private foundations, and businesses. Since 1983, it has distributed over $40 million in grants and scholarships, managing more than 360 funds for various charitable purposes.
The grant program focuses on a broad range of community needs, with an emphasis on supporting projects that are collaborative or organizational in nature and designed to address specific deficiencies or crises within the community. Priority is given to initiatives that are newly developed, address or prevent underlying community problems, require initial funding to get started, undertake studies on significant civic issues or public policy, help organizations resolve crises, build program and/or management capacity, or respond to significant community needs with moderate funding for substantial impact.
