The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
The National Infrastructure Partnerships initiative encourages collaboration between the National Wildlife Refuge System and a range of partners including local, regional, and national nonprofit organizations, other land management groups, state and tribal partners. The initiative's goals include promoting stewardship of refuge resources through habitat maintenance, restoration, and improvement; supporting the operation and maintenance of refuge facilities and services; enabling local communities to increase outdoor recreation opportunities; addressing infrastructure repair and improvement needs; and enhancing wildlife habitat. This cooperative agreement seeks partnerships to accomplish FWS work rather than acting as a direct grant program.
