Foundation For The Carolinas inspires philanthropy and empowers individuals to create a better community.
The grant program guided by the Cabarrus County Community Foundation focuses on investing in the community through the Endowment Fund and the York Cress Fund to promote community betterment and address local needs. Priority is given to projects and programs in specific areas: Arts & Culture (enhancing access and participation in cultural experiences for all), Education (improving readiness for school, keeping at-risk youth in school, promoting positive out-of-school behaviors, and re-training displaced individuals for new careers), Environment (increasing interaction with nature), Health (supporting individuals with dementia, mental illness, disability, promoting nutrition and physical activity, providing access to preventative health care, and aiding victims of violence), and Housing (providing emergency shelter and helping secure stable housing). There's a new emphasis on sustainable food options over crisis food services, reflecting a shift in their funding guidelines.
