The Foundation for Choral Music in Manitoba (FCMM) aims to support the choral community in Manitoba. Its purpose is to assist choirs across the province with their special projects, such as bringing in professionals for workshops, commissioning new works, and enhancing skills of choral educators and directors. It does this through funding generated from investments, including a partnership with The Winnipeg Foundation, and seeks to expand its resources through contributions from individuals, groups, and corporations.
The FCMM grant program focuses on the following objectives: encouraging and promoting choral events for all ages, providing professional development opportunities for conductors, fostering choral music education at all levels, incentivizing research and study of choral literature and performance, encouraging the creation of new choral works, promoting new initiatives in the choral arts, providing training opportunities in choral arts administration, advancing the improvement of choral performance facilities, and seeking more donors. An Emergency Grant is also available for choral projects facing unforeseen difficulties, ensuring their success.
