    The Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation (GHCF) aims to improve area communities by supporting "upstream" solutions that address the root causes of societal issues. Through various grants and funding opportunities, GHCF seeks to empower nonprofit organizations to create lasting, positive social change by tackling problems at their source, rather than merely managing symptoms.     The FCCF conducts an annual competitive grantmaking program targeted at nonprofit organizations operating in Franklin County. The foundation is particularly interested in programs related to music & the arts, health services with an emphasis on cancer, support for the elderly and individuals with special needs, initiatives benefiting children with special needs or accessibility issues, and projects that promote access to early childhood education.
