Fund for Santa Barbara Grants - Multi-Year Grants

The grant program by The Fund for Santa Barbara supports projects that:

1. Oppose discrimination based on race, sex/gender, age, religion, language, or immigration status.
2. Support communities marginalized by power structures to counter social injustice.
3. Improve the rights and living conditions of workers and their families.
4. Promote the cultural life of underserved communities and support cultural workers.
5. Encourage self-determination and leadership in low-income and disenfranchised communities.
6. Promote global peace and local justice policies.
7. Focus on environmental justice, climate change and provide access to decision-makers for those usually without it.
8. Engage in collaborative action and coalition-building to strengthen social movements.
9. Work against community violence and support recovery and restorative justice.
10. Operate democratically, directed by the constituency being served.

The grant program emphasizes the need for projects to create or advance social, economic, political, and/or environmental change through methods such as community organizing, lobbying, direct action, base-building, coalition-building, or legal strategy. Priority is given to projects that lack access to funding yet are critical and timely in achieving social change goals, demonstrate clear use of funds towards these goals, and contribute to regional equity in funding distribution across Santa Barbara County.
