Bringing clubs together to cultivate the bond among people, plants, and the environment.
The Garden Club of America offers an annual Fellowship in Ecological Restoration to support the advancement of knowledge and increase the number of scientists in the field of ecological restoration - the active healing of the land. Established in 2000 with funds from the John B. Young Charitable Trust and GCA members and clubs, this $8,000 grant supports exceptional graduate students specializing in ecological restoration at an accredited U.S. university. The fellowship particularly values projects that include field research in the United States, aiming to assist the recovery and management of ecological integrity by enhancing understanding of biodiversity, ecological processes, and sustainable cultural practices. A panel of experts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum reviews applications and makes recommendations.
