The mission of the Harry Chapin Foundation is to support organizations that have demonstrated their ability to dramatically improve the lives and livelihood of people by helping them to become self-sufficient.
The Harry Chapin Foundation focuses on funding programs that contribute to self-sufficiency and improvement in people’s lives. The foundation specifically supports initiatives related to Arts in Education, Community Education, Sustainable Agriculture, and Environment and Conservation. Grants from the foundation are designed to cover a one-year period, with the possibility of renewals which require submission of a new proposal and an activities report from the preceding year.
