The Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) aims to benefit the communities and people of Hawai‘i through project or program-based funding. It leverages specific community funds, supported by various donors and estates, to cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of the Hawaiian population with an emphasis on fostering positive change and development within these communities.
The Kūpuna Aging in Place (KAP) Program for Elderly Services is designed to support low- to moderate-income kūpuna aged 65 and older and their caregivers by offering a variety of supportive services. These services include community-based support available in homes or at facilities, tuition assistance for kūpuna to attend licensed adult day care or adult day health programs, and caregiver support services such as education, support groups, and respite. The ultimate goal of these offerings is to facilitate aging in place in Hawaiʻi, enabling kūpuna to live independently and comfortably in their own homes and communities for as long as it is in their best interest, while also addressing the emotional stress and life balance challenges faced by their caregivers.
