At Headwaters, we believe in leveraging the collective power of communities as a source of abundance and transformative change, akin to natural wellsprings. Our mission revolves around supporting organizations with deep roots and long horizons, aiming to nourish innovative and impactful ideas to make Minnesota a more just community.
The Wellspring Fund grants are designed to offer meaningful support to organizations that propose innovative and impactful ideas toward creating a more just Minnesota. These grants specifically target initiatives that have the potential to build power and advance justice through various means such as organizing models, narrative approaches, lifeways reclamation, coalition structures, campaign strategies, healing practices, and more. Acknowledging that innovation doesn't necessarily mean "new," the grant respects the power of practices rooted in community traditions as agents of change. Wellspring grants provide $90,000 of project-based support annually over four years, totaling $360,000, demonstrating Headwaters' commitment to fostering long-term relationships with grantee partners and supporting the long-term visions and strategies of Minnesota's movements for justice.
