We have a vision of a Thriving, Just, Healthy, and Equitable Region. This vision is implemented through four decade-long goals of increasing Racial Equity, Thriving Youth and Families, Healthy Ecosystems and Environments, and a Just Economy.
The Summer Youth Grants program is designed to support initiatives that offer learning, playing, and development opportunities for children and youth in a safe and productive environment. Specifically targeting programs that benefit low-income, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged youth, the grants aim to fill the gap in summer activities, especially in remote areas or for populations at high risk. Averaging $500 per grant, the program is open to considering higher amounts for special needs. Key considerations for additional funding include scholarship availability, no-fee programs, effective resource utilization or collaboration, developmental (beyond recreational) offerings, and initiatives ensuring participant safety.
