The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is dedicated to strengthening the health, safety, and independence of Idahoans. The Department of Health and Welfare’s (DHW) primary role in the community is to provide services and oversight to promote healthy people, safe children, and stable families.
The RHCAP Dental Care Grant supports projects that improve access to primary care and dental health services within Idaho's rural and underserved communities. Grant awards are capped at $35,000 for one-year funding cycles. Eligible proposals must address needs in designated HPSAs and MUAs and can focus on community development, telehealth, or initiatives aimed at the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals. Although the program recognizes the existence of barriers to accessing mental health services, its scope, by statute, is exclusively limited to primary medical care and dental health services.
