CoFED (Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive) is a QBPOC-led organization aiming to empower young people of color from poor and working-class backgrounds by meeting community needs through food and land co-operatives. The mission focuses on building the leadership of young BIPOC cooperators to practice cooperative values, economics, and strategies for collective liberation.
CoFED's CoFUND regranting program supports the collective resilience of food and land-justice based cooperatives led by Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous People of Color of all ages. It particularly aims to transform the food system by re-granting funds to cooperative and farmer-based organizations. This program encourages the application from legally established cooperatives and other business entities at all stages of development, offering up to $10,000.00, alongside 12 months of technical assistance in business management, financial and operational skills, and communications support.
