The mission of the Internet Society’s purposes is to promote educational applications of the Internet, to further the Internet’s development, evolution, or use for the benefit of people, and to engage and educate communities in the Internet’s use and application.
The Internet Society Foundation's BOLT Grant Program focuses on supporting teams of innovators in creating prototypes and pilots to improve global Internet connectivity and access. The program emphasizes the importance of innovation, teamwork, and collaboration in developing new solutions that are cost-reducing, environmentally sustainable, trust-enhancing, community-relevant, imaginative, and accessible. Designed for teams housed within relevant non-profit organizations or institutions, the BOLT Program aligns with broader efforts to advance Internet development, improve access and connectivity worldwide, and promote responsible innovation. Successful projects are awarded grants of USD $200,000 for 12-month durations.
