The Nelson Family Foundation grant program is committed to promoting the welfare and growth of Nebraska City and its surroundings. Its objectives are channelled through financial support to projects in five key areas: health care, to improve medical facilities and services; historical preservation, to protect and celebrate the city's rich heritage; education, to enrich learning opportunities for students and educators; fine arts, to foster cultural and artistic development; and community development, to enhance the quality of life through improvements in parks, tourism, and community facilities. These areas were chosen in accordance with the Nelsons' charitable interests and past support, aiming to sustain their vision for a vibrant and thriving community.
