    Overview

The Columbia Valley Local Conservation Fund (CVLCF), a collaborative initiative by KCP and the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK), focuses on funding conservation projects within the area from Spillimacheen to Canal Flats. It aims to safeguard natural areas by financially supporting projects that address known threats to biodiversity. Prioritization is given to technically sound initiatives that demonstrate effective use of resources and potential for leveraging additional funding through partnerships. Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations, First Nations bands, and local governments. The fund also supports multi-year projects for up to three years. A Technical Review Committee evaluates proposals to ensure alignment with conservation goals before final approval by the RDEK.
