    Overview

    The Mass Cultural Council's Artist Fellowships program is designed to recognize exceptional work by Massachusetts artists across various disciplines through highly competitive awards. These awards are intended to provide artists with crucial validation among peers and the public, stimulate artistic advancement, and facilitate the creation of work with enduring cultural value. Supporting 75 artists last year with a total of $652,500 in grants, the program covers 12 discipline categories, accepting applications in 6 artistic disciplines in years ending in an odd number. The specific disciplines for the "Odd Year Discipline Categories" include Crafts, Dramatic Writing, Film & Video, Music Composition, Photography, and Sculpture/Installation/New Genres.
