Microsoft Tech for Social Impact is dedicated to making technology affordable and accessible for nonprofits of all sizes to help them achieve their missions. This includes offering grants and discounts on products and services like Azure, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365, tailored to the needs of nonprofits worldwide.
The AI for Accessibility Grants aim to support projects that leverage generative AI in text, image, audio, and/or video formats to assist people with disabilities. This initiative seeks to fund ideas that enhance independence, improve communication, and ensure the accessibility of technology for the disabled. Proposals are encouraged to focus on underrepresented groups, consider the diversity of needs within the disability community, and work towards integrating solutions into the broader accessibility ecosystem. Priority themes include creating solutions directly involving those with disabilities, enhancing communication and language, and promoting independence and empowerment by addressing barriers like cost, infrastructure, and social factors. Grantees receive financial support, Azure compute credits, technical consulting, a supportive community environment, mentorship, and amplification of their projects.
