The mission of the NCMA Education and Research Foundation is to advance and support the concrete masonry and hardscape industry and the public interest through research and educational programs designed to meet the future needs of the industry. The Foundation has invested over $2M in grants towards industry research for codes and standards, educational opportunities for architectural and engineering students, and workforce development programs.
The NCMA Education & Research Foundation grant program supports proposals from scientists, engineers, educators, and other professionals involved with the manufactured concrete masonry and hardscapes industries. While proposals typically originate from individuals, they are officially submitted by their employing organization, emphasizing a collaborative approach to industry advancements. Although graduate students are not the primary target for proposal submission, there is an encouragement for them to contribute as research assistants under faculty guidance. The foundation emphasizes inclusivity, ensuring that no discrimination based on race, color, age, sex, national origin, or disability occurs in the awarding of financial assistance, aiming to foster a diverse and equitable research environment.
