This grant aims to support PK–12 schools by funding in-service professional development for enhancing multilingual learners' mathematics learning. It focuses on increasing understanding and expertise in teaching mathematics in a way that supports multi-language development. The funded projects should foster equitable and rigorous mathematics teaching that integrates students’ languages and cultures. Funding may be used for developing classroom materials with a consultant who has expertise in both mathematics and language education or for purchasing materials for professional learning directed at this goal.
