The National Endowment for the Humanities serves and strengthens our nation by supporting high-quality projects and programs in the humanities and by making the humanities available to all Americans.
The Summer Stipends program by the National Endowment for the Humanities aims to support advanced research in the humanities that benefits both scholars and the general public. Key goals include providing small awards to facilitate significant research projects, supporting projects at any stage but with a focus on early research and late-stage writing, and enhancing diversity and inclusion by encouraging applications from scholars associated with a diverse range of institutions. Recipients can use the stipends for compensation, travel, and other research-related costs during two full months of continuous work on their humanities project.
