    Overview

The Faculty Development in Geospace Science (FDSS) grant program by the Geospace Section of the NSF Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences seeks to fund the establishment of new tenure-track faculty positions within U.S. institutions of higher education. These positions are to be aligned with the disciplines encompassed by the AGS Geospace programs. The broad goals of FDSS include integrating geospace science topics such as solar and space physics, as well as space weather research into natural sciences, engineering, or related departments. It also aims to stimulate the development of undergraduate and graduate programs or curricula that will train the next generation of leaders in geospace sciences. A key aspect of the FDSS program is its encouragement of interdisciplinary partnerships within institutions to foster academic and research excellence in geospace science.
