The Robeson County Community Foundation (RCCF) aims to build community assets through the creation of permanent endowments, grants, and leadership in Robeson County. Founded in 2005 and guided by a local volunteer advisory board, RCCF facilitates local philanthropy by making it accessible for individuals of any means to support local causes, either by opening an endowment for their favorite cause or contributing to an existing fund.
The WCCF provides a competitive grants program, primarily advised by the Watauga County Community Fund, to address and support local needs within Watauga County. This program, occurring annually, aids in the distribution of funds ranging typically from $500 to $5,000, with a total of $30,000 awarded in grants in 2023. Specifically, the Armfield and Rachel Rivers Coffey Memorial Fund within WCCF backs initiatives benefiting the Watauga Humane Society and the Watauga County Community Foundation itself, demonstrating a blended focus on both community welfare and animal wellbeing.
