The mission of the Northern Border Regional Commission is to catalyze regional, collaborative, and transformative community economic development approaches that alleviate economic distress and position the region for economic growth.
The Catalyst Program focuses on stimulating economic growth and inspiring partnerships to improve rural economic vitality in the four-state NBRC region. It encourages projects that address economic needs or opportunities, relieve economic distress, and support economic growth. The program supports a wide range of economic development initiatives, including modernizing and expanding access to public water and wastewater services, revitalizing transportation infrastructure, establishing workforce development programs and facilities, enhancing the outdoor recreation economy, and improving access to new childcare and healthcare facilities.
