NW Children’s Foundation aims to end child abuse and neglect by aligning resources, organizations, and individuals passionate about child welfare. Their approach focuses on investing in effective prevention and intervention programs within their region, supporting organizations that impact the complex cycle of abuse and neglect, and giving them the resources needed to protect children. They emphasize informed decision-making, support proven programs, and are open to new approaches that break the cycle of child abuse and neglect.
The NW Children’s Foundation grant program operates on a two-step application process which begins with a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submitted by interested agencies, limited to one per year. Following the LOI, a screening committee reviews these submissions and selects agencies to participate in the full application and review process. The Foundation funds prevention and intervention programs that have demonstrated success in breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect. They are on the lookout for innovative approaches that might be overlooked by other funders, allowing them to support a diverse group of programs and children. Their funding focuses on three main areas: Healing Children, Empowering Youth, and Strengthening Families.
