The Art Acquisition Fund, now known as the Alaska Art Fund (AAF), supports Alaska museums in purchasing works by practicing Alaska artists. Initiated in 2003, its goals are to support living, practicing Alaska artists through museum purchases, enhance the permanent art collections of Alaska museums, and encourage Alaska museums to develop formal collections policies. This fund, administered by Museums Alaska and funded by the Rasmuson Foundation, underlines the foundation's commitment to vibrant arts and culture in Alaska as well as the economic possibilities for Alaskan artists.
