    Overview

The Youth Violence Prevention Initiative aims to mitigate youth violence and its contributing risk factors. It prioritizes:

    • Geographies: Targeting lower-income, higher-crime areas in specific locations.
    • Populations: Focusing on proven-risk and higher-risk youths and young adults within these areas.
    • Strategies: Supporting proposals with measurable objectives for serving these populations through diverse settings and methods, leveraging grants to attract additional resources, and implementing evidence-based programs to increase organizational evaluation capacity and accountability. The Foundation considers proposals for programs, projects, and collaborations, with 6-10 grants awarded annually ranging from $25,000 to $75,000, and occasionally commits to multi-year funding.
