The Sigma/Council for Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) grant is designed to support research projects carried out by qualified nurses with the purpose of improving global health. The grant welcomes proposals across a wide range of focus areas including clinical research, educational research, and historical research within the nursing field. An important aspect of the grant is the emphasis on the dissemination of research findings, indicating a commitment not only to the advancement of nursing science but also to sharing knowledge widely. Each year, one grant is awarded with funding available up to US $5,000, thanks to contributions from the Sigma Foundation for Nursing and the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science.
