Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s Donor Circle for the Arts aims to support emerging artists working with underserved populations and to expand arts opportunities for the diverse cultural communities in the Silicon Valley region. Since 2008, they have granted over $752,500 to emerging arts organizations within this mission.
The Community Action Grants Program by SVCF’s Arts and Culture unit aims to support arts organizations working towards key community goals such as strengthening community bonds and deepening civic engagement. With a particular focus on organizations whose leadership comprises Black, Indigenous, and people of color or their allies, the program emphasizes nurturing artistic and cultural expressions that represent communities of color or Black or Indigenous communities. The goal is to engage these communities in creative processes and social action, expanding the diversity of voices in the dialogue about the region’s future and fostering an environment where new, innovative ideas for social change can emerge.
