The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Foundation aims to enhance the well-being of employees and the performance of organizations through the science and application of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
The grant program focuses on acknowledging and rewarding exceptional research in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, specifically pertaining to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace issues. It targets papers or posters presented at the annual SIOP conference that contribute significantly to understanding LGBT workplace dynamics, offering theoretical and practical insights. The award celebrates works that are scientifically robust, provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by LGBT employees, suggest practical interventions for organizations, and contribute to the body of knowledge on sexual identity in the workplace. The recipient(s) receive a plaque and a $1,500 cash prize. The evaluation criteria include scientific basis, theoretical and empirical contribution to sexual identity in the workplace, methodology, and comprehensive review, ensuring technical adequacy and rigor.
