The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Foundation aims to enhance the well-being of employees and the performance of organizations through the science and application of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
The Zedeck-Jacobs Adverse Impact Research Grant supports SIOP members in researching adverse impact's causes and solutions in workplace testing and selection. It grants $3,000 to the best proposal which must focus on investigating adverse impact (AI)—a disproportionately negative effect on protected groups by employment tests or procedures—and finding new ways to reduce or eliminate AI. Research areas may include novel constructs, assessment strategies, test formatting, combining measures, or improving minority candidate test performance. The goal is to advance understanding of AI, address the validity-diversity dilemma, and reduce AI in assessments.
