The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office)'s mission is to advance the practice of community policing by state, local, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources. This mission is aligned with its role within the U.S. Department of Justice to support law enforcement agencies in building stronger community relationships and enhancing public safety.
The COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Program (CAMP) focuses on enhancing public safety by providing competitive grants to State law enforcement agencies in states with significant methamphetamine-related activity including high seizures of precursor chemicals, finished methamphetamine, and laboratory dump seizures. The grants aim to support efforts in locating or investigating illicit activities related to precursor diversion, methamphetamine laboratories, or methamphetamine traffickers.
