The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The goal of this grant program is to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on infectious and immune-mediated diseases (IID) computational modeling. This CoE will coordinate the IID modeling research community, facilitating advances in IID modeling research across biological scales. Specifically, it aims to accelerate the development, sharing, and reuse of multi-scale models and foster collaboration within the IID research community. To accomplish this, the CoE will include three coordinating cores and undertake two research projects designed to advance and integrate models across scales, with an emphasis on diseases including HIV/AIDS.
