    Overview

The Refugee Children and Youth Resilience Program is a grant initiative by the ORR aimed at enhancing the support system for ORR-eligible children, youth, and their caregivers. It seeks to build the capacity of refugee-serving agency staff through increased knowledge in child welfare. The program's goals include: providing virtual and in-person training and technical assistance through a child protection lens; enhancing communication and collaboration between local child welfare and refugee-serving agencies; and offering direct child welfare and protection case consultations and interventions. This initiative emphasizes the importance of fostering a network of subject-matter experts in refugee resettlement and social work to offer comprehensive support. The project encompasses a continual assessment of training and technical assistance needs and the development of an online resource hub focused on the resilience and well-being of refugee children and youth as they navigate their new lives in the United States.
